Dear twenty something

5 Things To Stop Feeling Bad About in Your 20s

Your 20s are about figuring out who you are and what you want in life. Some people are lucky enough to do this in their early 20s while others take a bit longer and there is nothing wrong with that.

Because you get to make serious decisions such as where to live, where to work and the likes, you are bound to feel guilty about some of the choices you make.

You live you learn. However, there are some things you should definitely not regret no matter what society tells you.

Here is a list of a few things you should not feel guilty about

1. Your relationship status

I start with this because if you are like me and have relatives your age who are married or in serious relationships then you are probably sick and tired of getting the old; ‘when are you getting married’ question that comes up any time you visit your aunts or that nosy neighbor who is trying to brag about how their daughter is having her first child.

It really is none of their business, so what if you are single, it doesn’t really matter whether you are going out on real dates or going on imaginary ones with your favorite movie character, I think everyone is on their own path so don’t feel ashamed.

Whether or not you are in a relationship should not get to determine the quality of your life. Single people can be perfectly happy as well.

2. Not getting up at 5 every morning

Now I put this in here for completely selfish reasons, I am not a morning person no matter how many cups of coffee I try and pour down my throat. I would rather stay up till 3 am working than wake up even at 6 and I don’t feel guilty about that.

This is most especially true on weekends; I like to sleep in so anything before 9 is is a no. It might seem like I am wasting precious hours to some people but I believe you need sufficient rest, healthy body healthy mind.

So if you want to sleep in go ahead and do it just ensure you finish your to-do list and get things done after you get up.
